David’s Jewelry & Coin Exchange provides written jewelry and coin appraisals for insurance records, inherited collections, estate planning, and equal division among heirs.
An insurance appraisal includes detailed item descriptions, estimated replacement values, and formal written documentation for jewelry, watches, and collectible coin collections.
You may need an updated appraisal after:
Written documentation helps you keep accurate records and gives your insurance company clearer information about the items you want covered. Insurance replacement values are different from resale or cash-offer values. For a free verbal evaluation or an offer to purchase, visit Sell to Us.
Written appraisals differ from verbal evaluations, cash offers, and resale estimates. For an informal evaluation or an offer to purchase, visit Sell to Us.
Written appraisal pricing depends on the type and number of items, the collection’s complexity, and the research and documentation required.
Written jewelry appraisals include detailed item descriptions, estimated replacement values, and professional documentation commonly used for insurance purposes.
Written coin appraisals consider dates, mint marks, condition, rarity, and current market value to provide documentation of your collection.
Formal appraisals require careful examination, research, documentation, and written preparation. For a single jewelry item, we may be able to examine the piece while you wait, depending on our current workload. In those situations, the item may not need to be left with us, and the written appraisal can typically be completed within one to two weeks, depending on our current queue.
Larger collections and multiple item appraisals usually require a longer review period. These items will need to be left with us so our team can properly examine, document, and prepare the appraisal report.
No appointment is necessary to discuss your appraisal needs or pricing. For larger collections, you are welcome to call or visit our showroom with questions before bringing everything in. Pricing varies depending on the size and complexity of the collection.

Allow time for review

Receive written documentation
For a single item, the written appraisal can typically be completed within one to two weeks, depending on the current queue. We will discuss timing for your items.
Inherited jewelry, watches, coins, and family collections can be difficult to understand without experienced guidance. Our team can help identify, organize, describe, and document items so families, executors, and attorneys have clearer information to work from.
We regularly assist with estate jewelry, inherited engagement rings, gold and platinum jewelry, loose diamonds and gemstones, Rolex and luxury watches, collectible coins, silver coins, gold coins, bullion, and mixed family collections.
Our role is to provide appraisal documentation and valuation guidance. Legal, probate, tax, and inheritance decisions should be discussed with the appropriate professional advisors.
Inherited coin collections can be difficult to divide fairly without clear organization and valuation. When families need help, we can sort, review, and value the coins, then organize them into groups of similar estimated value based on the number of heirs involved.
This gives family members, executors, and attorneys clearer information to work from when making decisions. Our role is not to decide who receives specific items. Instead, we help identify, organize, and value the collection so everyone has a clearer understanding of what is involved.
Whether you are an attorney working on behalf of a client, an executor of a will, or a family member handling an inherited coin collection, we can help organize and value the collection for equal distribution among multiple heirs.
David’s Jewelry & Coin Exchange is a PCGS Authorized Dealer and can assist with submitting eligible coins to PCGS for professional authentication and grading.
PCGS, or Professional Coin Grading Service, is one of the most recognized names in third party coin grading and authentication. Having a coin professionally graded can help confirm authenticity, document its condition, and provide a clearer understanding of how collectors may view it.
Not every coin needs professional grading. We can help you consider condition, rarity, potential value, submission costs, and your goals before deciding which coins to submit. PCGS makes all final authentication and grading decisions.
If you have original paperwork, purchase receipts, previous appraisals, GIA diamond reports, diamond grading reports, watch boxes, warranty cards, service records, certificates, or original packaging, please bring those items with you.
These materials can provide important information about an item’s identity, history, and condition and help us prepare a more complete written appraisal. Original packaging and supporting documents may also increase resale or collectible value, depending on the item.
Paperwork is helpful but not required. David’s Jewelry and Coin Exchange can still evaluate jewelry, diamonds, watches, coins, bullion, sterling silver, rare paper currency, and inherited collections even if you do not have the original documents.
If you are bringing inherited jewelry or coin collections, you do not need to clean, sort, organize, untangle, or separate everything before your visit. Many customers bring items in exactly as they were found, including jewelry boxes, bags of coins, loose pieces, watches, receipts, old appraisals, or mixed collections.
Our team can help review the items in person, identify important details, and explain what information may be needed for insurance documentation, estate evaluations, or assistance in organizing and dividing collections among family members and heirs.
People throughout Bryan, College Station, Aggieland, and the Brazos Valley trust David’s Jewelry and Coin Exchange for knowledgeable local appraisal services, clear explanations, and detailed written documentation.
Our showroom combines jewelry, coins, watches, precious metals, repairs, estate evaluations, and custom jewelry experience under one roof. That broad perspective helps when you are trying to understand inherited items, mixed collections, or valuables that do not fit neatly into one category.

Single jewelry items may sometimes be examined while you wait, depending on the item and our current workload. Larger collections, multiple item appraisals, and coin collections usually need to be left with us so our team can properly review, document, and prepare the written appraisal.
