What We Buy & Trade
David’s Jewelry and Coin Exchange purchases and evaluates a wide variety of jewelry, diamonds, luxury watches, coins, bullion, precious metals, sterling silver, collectibles, and inherited collections. Whether you are bringing in a single piece or an entire collection, our team is happy to help you better understand what you have and discuss value, cash offers, or trade-in opportunities for items in our showroom inventory.
Our team assists customers with:
- Estate jewelry, engagement rings, fine jewelry, broken jewelry, unwanted jewelry, and inherited gold or silver jewelry
- Diamonds, diamond jewelry, loose diamonds, and diamonds with GIA grading reports
- Gold and silver coins, bars, rounds, bullion, and 90% silver coins, commonly called junk silver
- Numismatic coins, collectible coins, and rare paper currency
- Sterling silver flatware sets, serving pieces, tea sets, trays, bowls, and hollowware
- Inherited jewelry collections, estate collections, and coin collections
- Custom jewelry and one-of-a-kind pieces
- Luxury watches, including Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Omega, Patek Philippe, TAG Heuer, Tudor, Tiffany & Co., Baume & Mercier, and other respected watch brands in good condition
- Texas A&M memorabilia and collectible items
- Authenticated pre-owned Louis Vuitton handbags and accessories
We do not purchase silverplate and do not typically purchase costume jewelry. When costume jewelry is mixed into a larger collection, we can help separate it from fine jewelry and precious metals. You are welcome to take those pieces home.
Sterling silver flatware, tea sets, trays, and hollowware can have precious-metal value. If you are unsure whether a piece is sterling or silverplate, bring it in so we can identify the markings and explain what you have.
How the Process Works
Bringing items into David’s Jewelry & Coin Exchange is simple and comfortable. Walk in during business hours; no appointment is necessary.
Items do not need to be cleaned, organized, untangled, sorted, or separated. Bring inherited jewelry boxes, mixed collections, loose coins, bags of silver, watches, or pieces exactly as found, and our team can help sort them.
Paperwork, original boxes, purchase receipts, certificates, and original packaging are helpful but not required. If available, bring previous appraisals, GIA diamond reports, watch warranty cards, and service records.
These materials can provide important information about an item’s identity, history, and condition. Original packaging and supporting documents may also increase resale or collectible value, depending on the item.
What to Expect During Your Evaluation
We provide same-day cash offers for most items. Unusual, rare, or highly specialized pieces may require additional research. There is no charge for verbal evaluations or cash offers when you are considering selling.
Our team examines your items in person and explains details such as metal purity, weight, diamonds or gemstones, age, brand recognition, collectibility, authenticity, condition, and factors affecting current value.
Evaluations may include:
- Separating precious metals by type and purity before weighing
- Examining diamonds, gemstones, and jewelry construction
- Reviewing a luxury watch’s brand, model, condition, and authenticity
- Identifying a coin’s date, mint mark, condition, and collectible value
- Recognizing designer, antique, or unusual features beyond metal value
We use professional XRF testing technology to help determine the metal purity and composition of suitable items without damaging them.
If you decide to sell, we clearly explain the cash offer and answer your questions. Our goal is a straightforward, informative, and no-pressure experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment to sell items?
No appointment is necessary. Customers are welcome to walk in during business hours for evaluations, to sell items, or to discuss jewelry, watches, coins, bullion, sterling silver, diamonds, or inherited collections.
Do you charge for evaluations or cash offers?
No. Our verbal evaluations and cash offers are always free, with no obligation to sell. Written appraisals are a separate service with a fee.
Do you make offers the same day?
Yes. Most customers receive information and cash offers during their visit. Some unusual, rare, or highly specialized items may require additional research.
Do you buy costume jewelry?
David’s Jewelry & Coin Exchange does not typically purchase costume jewelry. If costume jewelry is mixed into a larger jewelry collection, our team can help sort the collection and separate fine jewelry, precious metal items, and costume jewelry. We make offers on fine jewelry and precious metal items, and customers can take costume jewelry home.
Do you buy silverplate?
No. David’s Jewelry & Coin Exchange does not purchase silverplate. Sterling silver is a precious metal we buy, but silverplate is only a thin layer of silver over another base metal and does not have the same precious metal value as sterling silver.
Do you buy Louis Vuitton handbags?
Yes. David’s Jewelry & Coin Exchange purchases and evaluates authenticated preowned Louis Vuitton handbags and accessories. Condition, authenticity, style, demand, and any original packaging or receipts may affect value.
